The Cancer Society's Lions Lodge provides a relaxing and friendly environment for people to enjoy while undergoing cancer treatment. The Lodge lies in the heart of Hamilton and is close to the Waikato Regional Cancer Centre.

What You'll Do as an Accommodation Host:

  • Greet and engage with guests, offering companionship and support as appropriate.
  • Assist guests with settling in and orienting themselves to Lodge facilities.
  • Support Lodge staff in responding to guests’ needs and inquiries.
  • Help with meal preparation or dinner service, as required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone with a friendly, compassionate, and empathetic demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect guests’ privacy.
  • Comfortable working in a sensitive healthcare-related environment.
  • Experience in hospitality, caregiving, or customer service is an asset.

Requirements:
  • A can do attitude with a friendly and caring manner.
  • Ability to interact with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and excellent communication skills.
  • It is essential that the right person for this role has the ability to respect the privacy of guests and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and able to work under Alert Level 3 guidelines.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Two shifts per week, from 9am-1pm
  • Casual on Call Monday to Thursday (inclusive)
