Receptionist

Te Awamutu

As a Community House we have a mix of visitors including clients of our Family Support, Family Harm, Counselling and Budgeting Services, members of groups using our facilities and some who just drop in for a hot drink and a chat. You will answer phones, take very clear messages, monitor staff movements, make some appointments and greet all arrivals. Some housekeeping is involved eg: helping to keep kitchen area, reception and other areas clean and tidy. If you are able, there maybe some general clerical tasks.

Requirements:

You need to be warm and welcoming, comfortable with varied social and ethnic backgrounds, can treat every visitor with respect. A good standard of oral and written english is required. A good level of accuracy is needed (attention to detail is required). You need to be able to cope with sometimes being frantically busy and having nothing to do at other times (you can bring a book, puzzle book etc for these times). Able to adhere to our confidentiality requirements. Reliable, trustworthy and able to work with the team at times and independently at times.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

2 - 6 Hours per week depending on time slots available and your availability. Regular time slot roster each week (Same day & time each week)
