If you’d love to get involved with your community and spend some time as a custodian of one of the greatest art collections in the country, volunteer for the Wallace Gallery! Volunteer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering phones, attending to the Gallery gift shop (including using the till and Eftpos), customer service, taking bookings for school groups, giving information about exhibitions (current and upcoming) and keeping a tally of visitors. Opportunities to be involved in curation and installation of new shows, promotion and event management can be made available to the right candidates.
Students - ask us for a reference for your CV, or become an intern! We want to make this opportunity as valuable to you as you are to us - we look forward to meeting you!
Our only requirements are that you have your own transport to and from the Gallery, and that you can give three hours once a fortnight as a minimum time commitment.
Volunteers can pick and choose hours that work for them, but we tend to ask for a half day (10am - 1pm, or 1pm - 4pm) at least once a fortnight. These hours are negotiable and changing depending on Gallery events.
