Brighten Someone's Day - Rural Waikato

Cambridge, Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Huntly, Ngāruawāhia, Ōtorohanga

Read some of our volunteers' feedback " I was very overwhelmed before Christmas when my client and her husband informed me that I'm not just their weekly visitor. I'm their friend who they care very much about and love having me in their life."
There are a growing number of older people who are lonely or socially isolated. In this role volunteers engage and interact with an older person from within their community. This a wonderful opportunity to share life stories, experiences and develop friendships. Our volunteers come from all walks of life but what they have in common is warmth, friendliness and a desire to make a difference in the life of an older person.

Friendly, trustworthy, reliable, excellent spoken English communication skills, enjoy talking to older people, good listening skills.
