Join a friendly team of volunteers and help people from all walks of life find solutions to issues that are affecting them. The work is interesting and very satisfying. You will be responding to phone and face to face enquiries from the wider community, with the aim of giving clients as many options as possible to resolve their issue. Areas of inquiry may include housing, employment, issues with non-government and government departments.

Our team are rostered on in pairs so there is always someone to support you or check in with, should something tricky crop up. You can gain work experience as well as have the opportunity to offer others a listening ear and support.
Full training is provided -this includes how to access a wide variety of information using our CAB system. You will begin your role working with another experienced team member.

Requirements:

You need to be computer literate, non-judgemental, and have the ability to work in a team.
Be confidential in working with clients.
Culturally competent.
Be an effective listener.
Approachable.
Tidy in appearance.
A vaccine pass is to be sighted, due to fact we are dealing with vulnerable people, and it is a policy required by the Citizens Advice National Office

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Volunteers work on a roster system - which involves a 3 hour shift once a week.
