There’s a 30-year-old guy with autism who’s looking for a mate close to his own age, someone to hang out with, share interests, and get out and about. He’s independent, capable, and easy to chat with, but could use a hand making friends and building connections.
Whether it’s catching a game, grabbing a coffee, hitting the movies, or just going for a walk, you’ll be doing what you enjoy while helping him expand his social circle. Flexible hours, fun activities, and laughs are all part of the role, you might even build a lasting friendship along the way.

Requirements:
What We’re Looking For:
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 17 years old.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English, a good listener and able to adapt your communication style to suit different needs.
- Personal Qualities: Patience, kindness, and reliability are essential, along with a genuine desire to build a meaningful friendship.
- No Experience Needed: Full training and ongoing support will be provided—no prior experience is required.
- Background Check: Due to the nature of this role, applicants must successfully complete a Police Vetting process.
- You will need transport and a full NZ driver's license to enable you to get out together.

Time commitment:
- Time Commitment: Be available to volunteer at least once every fortnight.
- Consistency: We ask that you commit to the role for at least a year to build a real, lasting friendship.
