Our trade name is Single Parent Services, and we support whaanau to navigate family life as sole carers, gain access to practical support, build confidence, and form connections. We strive for a community where single parents feel empowered, supported, and part of a caring network. Link House Birthright Waikato Trust has a long history of providing social services for whaanau led by a sole carer.

As a trustee, you will:

  • Help guide the strategic direction of the Trust; and
  • Contribute to its ongoing impact in the community.
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of governance roles are preferred
  • Financial literacy
  • Experience or knowledge of the not-for-profit sector
  • An understanding of social inequalities and how they impact single-parent families
  • A commitment to the values and mission of the Trust

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:
  • Attend quarterly Trust meetings (approx. 1 hour per meeting)
  • Stay informed through monthly operational updates.
