The Waikato Coalfields Museum holds an extensive collection of coal mining artefacts, machinery, photographic archives and family history files.
We aim to provide a unique museum experience using our coal mining heritage to explore our collective history, and to preserve and make accessible this heritage and to promote a sense of belonging and pride in our community.
Be part of the Huntly Museum team! Volunteer 2–3 hours on weekday afternoons or Saturdays to greet visitors, answer questions, and keep the front desk running smoothly. A great way to meet people, be social, and be part of our welcoming community!
Be part of the buzz! Help us celebrate the grand opening of Te Whare Taonga o Raahui Pookeka Huntly Museum. Just 2 hours of your time—serving tea, greeting guests, or lending a hand—will make this community day truly special!
