We are currently looking for a new Community Advisor to join our team.
About the role
This is a part-time Community Advisor role based in Hamilton, supporting Volunteering Waikato - Te Ohu Tuuao o Waikato in our mission to promote and support volunteering in the local community. As a Community Advisor, you will play a key role in connecting individuals and organisations with volunteer opportunities that align with their skills and interests.
What you'll be doing
Developing meaningful relationships with Hamilton based community organisations to understand and support their volunteering needs
Assisting organisations in recruiting, training and managing volunteers
Providing guidance and support to individuals and community groups on volunteer opportunities
Organising and promoting volunteer events and initiatives
Facilitating networking opportunities to foster collaboration and best practice sharing.
Maintaining and expanding a database of volunteer opportunities and community organisations
Delivering presentations and workshops to raise awareness of volunteering and its benefits
Monitoring and reporting on the impact of volunteering activities in the local community
What we're looking for
Experience in community development, volunteer management or a related field
Good understanding of the not-for-profit sector
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Passion for making a positive impact in the local community
A proactive team player who is hands-on and ready to contribute wherever needed
A willingness to learn and build your knowledge about the sector
Confident with IT
You will need a full drivers license for this role.
