Do you love history and story-telling? Are you passionate about presenting the stories of our ancestors for people today and for future generations? Are you looking to share your whizz bang design talents and time for a feel-good purpose? We have many amazing stories to share but could really do with some help to present them visually well. If you have the capacity to help with one project or on an ongoing basis, please contact our team.
The Treasury is a national treasure, largely volunteer run, dedicated to collecting, archiving, indexing, cataloguing and digitising the history of the people, the businesses and the organisations of Te Tara o Te Ika a Māui. The Treasury attracts volunteers of all ages and backgrounds and is a fantastic way to forge a deeper connection with your and/or the district’s ancestry, and with the local community. Our centre is located in Thames but this volunteer work could be done remotely from anywhere.
You might be or have been a professional graphic designer looking to do something for the good of your community, or you might be studying for your design qualification and would like a project to include in your portfolio. We ask that you be able to use your own device and software.
Our projects will differ in size and we can work with you to discuss what's involved and how much time you can commit. We're flexible.
