Waikeria Prison is a male corrections facility based south of Te Awamutu.
We are looking for a person, or several people, to be involved in a small recycling project. We hope to get a small group of men involved in making tote bags using old plastic bags (bread bags). This person will come in and work alongside the men.
All materials required are provided and all volunteers are eligible to receive $300 petrol/MTA vouchers after 6 visits.
Waikeria is an exciting environment to work and provides an opportunity to be a positive role model and help men engage in pro-social activities which give back to our communities
No formal requirements, an interest in crafts and recycling would make the role more interesting and a mature attitude.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
