Rongoā Rākau Guide

Our Wellness and Guiding Programme Coordinator is seeking additional and experienced Guides for this popular specialist tour.
You will be guiding groups of up to 10 people here at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari on a rostered basis. The role requires you to share your stories and experience of Rongoā Rākau in a beautiful ancient forest environment that protects precious taonga. Currently we offer this experience on a Friday, however we are looking to expand these opportunities to share this knowledge and insight with more people.
You will initially be mentored and supported in this role by our Wellness and Guiding Programme Coordinator until you are ready to do solo group tours.

Requirements:

Must be an experienced practitioner of Rongoā Rākau and able to guide a group of up to 10 people.
Enthusiasm for nature, conservation, and the project. 
Respectful of tikanga.
Self-motivated.
Able to identify flora and fauna..
Able to tell a story and engage an audience.
Fluent English and/or Te Reo.
Ability to deal confidently with diverse groups.
Friendly people person.
We provide branded clothing and access to online training, and knowledge sites.
First Aid Certificate (can be arranged)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

3 hours minimum per month on a rostered basis - this equals approximately two tours a month..
