Tuesday Club Cook

Taupō

We need people to join our team of volunteer cooks who prepare a nutritious home-cooked lunch on Tuesdays for our patient day-stay programme. You don't need to be a master chef to do this - the type of meals that have been prepared in the past are things like corned beef and mashed potatoes, roast chicken and vegetables, curried sausages and mashed potatoes. Desserts might be fruit salad and ice cream, crumble or steamed pudding. Our Tuesday lunch caters to 30 people - and several volunteers are involved, preparing dishes.
The majority of the ingredients are supplied, however seasonings, and pantry staples may be contributed by you, if required. You will do most of the cooking at home, then on Tuesday morning you bring the cooked dish to Hospice House and help with the morning tea set-up, and the heating and serving of the two course lunch.
New volunteers are welcomed onto this team and supported while learning the role - you might just clear tables and help with the dishes for a while until you are confident about preparing some meals yourself.

By participating in this volunteering opportunity you are helping achieve the following United Nations Sustainability Goals;
Goal 3 - Good health and well-being
