Client Interviewer - SHAMA

A Bureau Interviewer is typically based at the Bureau on Victoria Street but we are running a new pilot. We want to place volunteers in other organisations so that they can help their local community by using our resources and support.
Full, ongoing training is provided and a lot of support to help make sure this role really makes a strong, positive impact on the community.

This role is for a volunteer based at SHAMA. SHAMA is about migrant women supporting migrant women and we would like to recruit volunteers who believe in this as a core value. For this reason, the volunteer must be female and preferably from a migrant background.

Requirements:
  • Good communication skills and listening skills
  • Good English both spoken and written
  • Always acts with compassion, empathy and neutrality
  • Always maintains client confidentiality
  • Good computer skills (training is provided)
  • Adhere to CAB aims, values, principles, and policies.
  • Learn about and participate in the CAB commitment to effectiveness for Māori (Mauri Manaia)
  • Give and receive feedback effectively, accepting guidance and assistance.
  • Participating in ongoing training sessions

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
