Homework Support and Transport


In this role, you will help secondary school students with their NCEA-related homework and assignments, as well as helping pick up the girls from high schools around Hamilton, and driving them home after the programme. This is a one-on-one tutoring role which aims to cover as many subjects across the curriculum, with a strong focus on English and Math. You will be working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Currently, we support students from Congo, Somalia, Colombia, Afghanistan, Syria, and Pakistan.

  • NZ Full Drivers Licence (for at least 2 years)
  • Your own vehicle with an up to date WOF and Registration
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Ability to teach academic reading and writing
  • Must have lived in NZ for more than a year and have an understanding of the NZ high school system and NCEA
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
  • Friendly, reliable and compassionate | Preferred:
  • Experience in ESOL education
  • A genuine interest in helping refugee students to succeed
  • For cultural reasons, we are seeking females for this role

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Sessions are held on Mondays and Fridays at Wintec, from 3.15 till 5.30pm.
Pick ups will start from 3pm and drop offs will likely end around 5.45pm.
