Paeroa Community Bus is a service operated by volunteers that, for the last thirty years, has given a door to door service every Friday in Paeroa and weekly outings to Thames every Tuesday - plus other outings to concerts and social activities. This service allows people with limited transport or inability to drive the opportunity to get out of the house. The van has a hoist for wheelchair-bound people to be taken on outings or to weddings or funerals etc. when required. We are looking for new committee members.
Someone with a keen interest to help the community, good communication + negotiation skills, fresh ideas/perspectives, not just a ‘yes person’, and being email savvy would be a good fit for the role. Because we are meeting in person infrequently, as most decisions are made electronically, you need to be able to think analytically. A police check is required.
The organisation operates under the umbrella of the Paeroa Community Support Trust.
The Paeroa Community Support Trust aims “To be a Regional Resource Centre serving children, youth, families and seniors and impacting our community for the Heartland of Hauraki and Coromandel”. The PCST is in the 26th year of supporting all members of the community, especially those at risk of social and /or financial pressure.
Musbe able to pass a police check and have great communication and collaboration skills and abilities.
Flexible time commitment due to online work
