Volunteers are the heart of Habitat for Humanity New Zealand. Thousands of people volunteer in New Zealand or overseas with us each year, working towards a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
This opportunity shop in Glenview raises funds to support our mission to build homes for people in need. Retail assistants are needed to work in the store between 10.00am - 4.00pm split into morning and afternoon shifts. You can do one of more shifts each week depending on your availability.
Duties would also include interacting with customers, handling cash at the till, ongoing tidying, re-hanging clothes, color blocking of clothes on railings, helping in sorting clothes and general shop maintenance to keep the shop looking good.

You will need a friendly manner, with a genuine customer service focus. We need people with good communication skills, a willingness to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds and keen in helping out with sorting. We love a good sense of humour, so whilst this is a business, and run as such, we want to have fun and enjoy ourselves at work as well.!
Good numeracy and concentration are important as once trained you will be using the point of sale till including EFTPOS and handling cash transactions.
