Endometriosis is a condition that effects not just women, but their families and wider communities as well. The main focus of Insight Endometriosis is to raise awareness of this disease and the treatments/regimes that can assist women to cope, and to support and empower people when they seek out help and treatment.
We are seeking an online Support Group Facilitator to lead a regular support group for those with Endometriosis. We are looking for several people that can organise and run fortnighly meetings at a range of times. They can be organised at a time to fit in with personal commitments. Maintaining relationships between meetings is also important which can be by Facebook, emails, etc.
This role is NEW and the groups will be facilitated online though Zoom. Full support and training can be provided online and over the telephone.
The role involves: - co-ordinating a fortnightly support group for women with endometriosis, at a time and day which suits the volunteer. They will need to contact women to encourage them to attend, lead introductions and facilitate conversations to encourage sharing of experiences - referring people to our Educator if needed and reporting back to the Support Group Co-ordinator Team Leader. There are ongoing opportunities for professional development for the successful candidate.

Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for people who:
Are reliable and trustworthy
Are able to respect privacy and confidentiality beyond the group
Are sensitive and empathetic to people's situations
Are caring and able to build rapport with different people over zoom
Have access to a reliable computer and internet service
Have some computer skills
Previous knowledge of Zoom, group facilitation, and Endometriosis are preferred but are not essential as all training is provided.
Personal experience with Endometriosis is not required for the role.
May suit students looking for group facilitation experience.
The successful applicant can expect to spend up to 5 hours a month with organising and running the support group.
In response to an increase in demand for support, we are looking to recruit a selection of new facilitators that are able to share the launch and ongoing responsibility of two online Zoom support groups. This will mean that the facilitation of each group will be shared between two people.
