We are looking for a motivated and patient tutor who is able to pass on their English knowledge and teach in a male environment to learners who have English as a second language. This is an entry level position requiring someone who is flexible, reliable and willing to teach numeracy and literacy to adults. Previous tutoring experience is preferred. This position is based inside the prison at Spring Hill, where you will be required to complete security checks and an induction prior to commencement. We value our volunteers and they become part of a special team, where we celebrate successes and learn from each other.

(COVID Vaccination Required) Knowledgeable in teaching adults with a variety of teaching methods. Ability to adapt to different learning styles. Will be required to work independently with learners in a 1:1 situation.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

One day per week for up to 2 hours.
