A Management Committee member has a governance and strategic role to play in representing the vision and purpose of Neighbourhood Support Hamilton Inc. A committee member participates fully in the management committee functions and meetings where all relevant matters are discussed and effective decisions are made and carried out • Contributes to meetings in accordance with Neighbourhood Support governing documents and objectives • Provides guidance and direction to the Field/Administration Officer • Supports Field/Administration Officer in related issues • Communicates effectively the vision and purpose of the organisation • Advocate for and represent Neighbourhood Support Hamilton with key stakeholders at external meetings and events, when required • Be aware of current issues that might affect Neighbourhood Support Hamilton.
Signs and abides by the Neighbourhood Support Code of Conduct • Understanding of the role/responsibilities of a governance committee • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Able to work within a dedicated team of volunteers • Tact and diplomacy • Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidentiality • Obtain, or already hold, a NZ Police clearance • Knowledge of the operating environment for charities • Ability to work from home using information technology.
A commitment to at least one year of voluntary service involving approximately three hours per month. Attendance at least six, two hourly management committee meetings in Hamilton per annum.
