Facility Development - Project Manager

Home Based, Hamilton

Badminton is a rapidly growing sport in New Zealand, and is played from community grassroots to competitive international level as an Olympic and Paralympic sport. Waikato Badminton Association (WBA) is a not-for-profit organisation that develops, promotes and governs the sport of badminton across the Waikato region. WBA also manages a purpose-built, international standard badminton facility in Hamilton. WBA exists to make the sport of badminton accessible not just as a sport, but also a play and recreation activity to people of all ages and abilities. WBA has over 1000 affiliated club members, and offers a wide variety of events, programs, and services to over 20,000 participants in the region each year.

Underpinning the WBA Strategic Plan is its Facilities Optimisation priority. Waikato Badminton Association, in partnership with the Eastlink Badminton Society, has an appetite to upgrade/expand the Eastlink Badminton Stadium to ensure the facility can cater for growing participant demands whilst continuing to be safe, healthy, sustainable, productive and fit-for-purpose. This priority has in-principle support from Eastlink Community Hub to proceed as it offers multi-use facility opportunities extended through cooperation with the Hub, along with a balance of economic objectives with social objectives.

We are looking for an expert in facility development processes who can work collaboratively to support this mission, manage processes, provide advice, guide actions, coordinate discussions and transform plans for the upgrade/expansion to become a reality.
