As a horse leader you will be required to lead our horses and enable our riders to learn skills and have fun. You may also support and encourage riders and assist them with the activities they need to do. This is a hands on role so we need people who are confident leading a horse. We require the leader to be able to listen to directions from our horse manager and coach, to ensure the safety of themselves, the horses and others around them. This is a very important role and we need more people to help so that we are able to involve more children and young adults.
Our wonderful horses are all calm, gentle and easy to lead - they are a pleasure to work with.
Some knowledge of horses or a willingness to learn is essential. You need a reasonable standard of physical fitness as you will spend most of your time on your feet. A good standard of conversational English is required along with lots of common sense. We are looking for reliable people who communicate well with others and enjoy working in a fun and friendly environment.
You need to be 14 years or older to do this role.
Please be aware that anyone volunteering with us needs to be fully vaccinated- in line with the Government mandate for Health and Disability service providers.
We would love people to come weekly to be able to be able to give riders consistency, however any time you are able to give is greatly appreciated. Session times are 8.30am - 12.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday - during school terms.
