Wrap Christmas gifts at a wrapping booth in one of two shopping centres - Centre Place or The Base, raising funds for Volunteering Waikato. Volunteers will need to be available for at least three shifts between December 10-24, but can do more. You will need great customer service skills, a good level of conversational English and a high level of personal presentation as you will be working in a corporate environment.
You will get to be part of a fun team, meet other volunteers, be part of the Christmas buzz. Learn the art of gift wrapping. Promote the concept of volunteering in our community.
Additional Health and Safety protocols will be in place, and these will be dependent on Covid level one or level two.
Although we do provide training for all gift wrappers, you must already be able to wrap in a neat and tidy way. You will be using a mobile EFTPOS machine - but don't worry, it's easy and training will be provided.
You must be able to work independently, work quickly when things get busy, and have a high level of personal presentation. You must also be able to stand for four hours.
There is a compulsory training session in the Hamilton CBD for anyone who had not done this project before or anyone who would like a refresher, with a range of times during normal office hours available.
Shifts are generally four hours long, with a few variations. Volunteers can choose shifts to suit, depending on availability. Shifts are available daytime, evening, weekend.
