Team Leader - Virtual Call Centre

We have a small team of 6-8 call centre volunteers.
This role involves both leadership and liaison. It involves:

  1. Consultation with various staff members about calls they need made. Occasional live training sessions for new volunteers which you will run in Hamilton with one of our staff.
  2. Liaison between staff needing calls made for various purposes and the e-call centre volunteers
  3. Assigning tasks to the volunteers
  4. Supporting volunteers
  5. Organising a call centre roster using google calendar.

We can give you some scripts that you can adapt for various calls, but your team are welcome to adapt them even more, to make them feel comfortable. Calls can include ringing students and volunteers to check on how they are doing, and ringing places like libraries to check if they need more bookmarks sent out. Our marketing team also need people to ring companies on our database to check the contact details we have are accurate.

Your job is to give volunteers the type of call they prefer making. There is quite a variety of different options. A computer and internet access are essential but it won't cost you anything for the calls. We have an IT volunteer who can help you and your team with setup.

Requirements:

Good telephone manner. Good understanding and very clear pronunciation of English (People must be able to understand you easily on the phone).
Basic excel skills.
Experience as a team leader, formally or informally.

Time commitment:

4-5 hours a week.
