Volunteering Waikato are receiving many calls from people who want to help others in the community, and we are working with other agencies to ensure there is a co-ordinated and safe way for this to happen. In the coming days, weeks and months, help will be needed in a variety of ways.
If you would like to offer your assistance, please apply for this role and use the "Other Information" box at the bottom to let us know how you might be able to assist. We will be back in touch with you as soon as we can, or we will pass your details to the organisation that can best use your help. Please also indicate your time availability, and indicate whether you have a current Police check.
During level alerts 3 and 4 we will specifically be looking for ways to provide assistance remotely, phone based etc.
A key aim is is to ensure that vulnerable people in our community, those who are self-isolating, and simply those that need additional support right now, get the support they need.
We anticipate there being a range of tasks, and requirements for each task will depend on the role. We will need people who have a drivers licence and car, you will need to be able to follow health and safety guidelines that will be in place to protect you and those in the community. We may need people for phone based roles, to check in with the elderly, letterbox drops, pick up and delivery roles.... and that's just what we can think of for now.
This will depend on the role but will be flexible.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
