You would be helping to transport our educational resource kits to and from the House of Science Central Waikato headquarters to our member schools front office in and around Hamilton. You would leave from our headquarters on Ruakura Road after being provided with a list that details the delivery route, and the resource kits and equipment that needs to be either delivered or collected from a school using your own vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed for the kilometres used for transporting the kits and return to headquarters. A reasonable level of fitness and strength is required, though a trolley is provided and recommended to be used to help move the resource kit to and from your car.
Volunteers are required to have/be the following:
Drivers are required on for a Monday and/or Friday during the Primary and Intermediate Term time.
On Mondays, drivers need to be at the headquarters for 8:30am, so that they can be ready to set off at 8:45 with the kits loaded in their vehicle. The time taken to deliver the kits is dependant on the number and location of the schools on the route but usually takes no more than one and half hours.
On Fridays, the drivers need to be at the headquarters for 12:45pm ready to start picking up the kits from schools by 1pm. The time taken to pick up the kits is dependant on the number and location of the schools on the route but usually takes no more than one and half hours.
