We are a Not- For- Profit Organisation supporting and advocating for all hearing impaired / their families / whanau in our community, including Schools and Rest Homes.

Our two retiring committee members joined our organisation to gain experience and knowledge but have had to resign due to careers and a location move so we are seeking new members to join us.
The current committee are very passionate about education and support for the hearing impaired and our community. The board meets once per month at the premises and committee members also assist with 2 regular fundraisers annually which don’t ask for much time commitment.

To remain active in our community we need a committee / quorum to operate. If you have the time please consider our organisation. We would love to see fresh new faces join the team.

Requirements:

Able to attend a monthly meeting.
Community spirit.
Empathy / understanding of the hearing impaired.
Enjoy working in group.
Sense of humour.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Attend a 1 to 2 hour monthly committee meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 1pm.
Fundraising events - 2 regular events per year - up to 2 hourly shifts is often required for these events if possible, but not compulsory.
