New Resident Applications and Placement

We work as a committee with responsibility for tasks divided among the group according to their skills. In this role you will be taking care of new resident applications and placements. You would be taking care of the waiting list and contacting people when a vacancy becomes available. You need to be able to take phone enquiries for prospective residents, organise for them to visit the house, arrange a short stay for the potential resident and the associated medical questionnaire and tenancy agreement. At times you may be required to show a new person round the facility.
This position can be very rewarding as you are making a difference to an older persons life and also helping their family members.

You should have a general understanding of the requirements of older people relating to housing, perhaps some history in the nursing field or one of the service looking after older people.
Competent use of English (written and spoken) and be an accurate listener.
Can use word processing and emails.
Good level of integrity and able to work confidentially, punctual and reliable, sound judgement skills and able to commit to attending regular meetings.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Once a month attend meeting for 1 1/2 hours which is held on the second Wednesday of the month from 4.00pm until 5.30pm. Take phone or email enquires from prospective residents or their family members. Total commitment would be 2-4 hours per month.
