Our Ushers are required on a casual basis to support the Front of House management roles. Tasks include greeting patrons, ushering them to seats, monitoring the audience during the show, ensuring safe exit at the end of the show, assisting with general tidy up and if needed, fire warden evacuation.

Please note - access to the theatre is via a staircase so would be difficult for those with mobility issues. As a volunteer you will have access to free shows in a variety of genres and be working with a great group of like minded people.

Requirements:

Friendly, open and sociable.
Excellent communication skills with people from a diverse section of our community.
Able to follow and deliver instructions.
Good awareness of health and safety practices.
Keen to be part of a fabulous team.
Excellent time keeping.
You will be required to wear your own black dress trousers (no leggings, tight pants, or jeans with rips), knee length skirt (no short skirts) and flat black shoes. A uniform shirt is supplied.
NOTE: Applicants must be 18 years or older and those with criminal conviction MAY not be considered for this role.

Time commitment:

This is a very flexible role. The upside is that the successful applicant will get to choose which show they would like to work, making it flexible for those on a busy schedule. The role is approx 3-4hrs per show/event that they have committed to do. The successful applicant would also be required to attend team meetings and trainings as required. Shows can take place in the daytime or evenings 7 days a week.
