Reuse Store Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help raise funds to support Habitat's vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live - or to use a favourite phrase of ours - every sale bangs a nail! This role will involve:

  • Sorting donated goods
  • Customer service
  • Displaying items for sale
We offer lots of tea and coffee, a happy and friendly work environment where you get to meet all sorts of interesting people, and the opportunity to grow or use your customer service skills, use of registers and an understanding of how a retail environment works. Our current small team are easy going, friendly and like to make work fun. If you enjoy upcycling or hate the thought of how much is wasted in this generation then this is the perfect opportunity for you as well as being able to help those in need!

This role is located just out of Taupō at the Envirowaste recycle site, and would suit someone who enjoys engaging with people from all walks of life. You will get a lot satisfaction from helping people discover items at great prices to benefit their family. You need to enjoy chatting with customers and sorting/displaying the many interesting items that end up at our store. We are looking someone who is reliable with a sense of humour. You also need to be honest and have a common sense attitude.
