Cub Leader - Chartwell

We equip young people with life skills of problem-solving, teamwork, social responsibility, and healthy living; and provide them with access to a large range of activities including conservation, gardening, healthy living, water skills, animals, art and craft, technology, helping others, emergency services, First Aid, cooking, performing arts, science, life skills and an awards scheme.
You will assist the Cubs aged 8 to 11 years to learn new skills and earn badges in a range of subjects and tasks including the outdoors, personal development, the community and new experiences. Teach our youth skills and learn new skills yourself. It only requires a little of your time per week. We have two Cub Packs operating on a Monday and a Tuesday night to choose from. Our learning and development programme can be treated as part of your own professional development and the personal rewards are priceless. Learn new skills, be a part of the worlds largest youth organisation, ongoing training in leadership and skill development, fun and adventure?

Requirements:

Must be willing to learn new skills.
Previous experience in outdoors or camping an advantage but not essential.
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to relate well to a wide range of people especially youth.
Outgoing, friendly team player with a good sense of life skills and values.
A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

One evening per week plus some weekends.
There is an expectation to take part in ongoing training and attend meetings during the year.
We meet at Chartwell Scout Hall, Bellmont Ave, Chartwell.
