This organisation would welcome qualified ESOL tutors to work with prisoners. This is specifically to work with prisoners whose native language is not English. This will enable the individuals to go on to attend rehabilitation classes and other education classes.
The Volunteer would be required to develop their own session outlines. The Volunteer will benefit from teaching a person to write and speak English. By assisting them to improve their literacy the prisoners have a greater opportunity to expand their education whilst in custody as well as get involved in work and training opportunities offered within the prison.

The Volunteer will be able to take pride in knowing they are helping someone to improve their life and make necessary changes to live a crime free lifestyle once they leave prison.


Experience in working with and teaching ESOL students is essential.
The Volunteer will be working with prisoners therefore needs to be aware of this and their environment at all times.

A Police background check is required for this role.
