Board Member - Māori Representation

Asthma Waikato sees children 0-15 and their families who suffer from asthma. We have a strong Board and a great operational team, and robust plans for the future. A large proportion of our clientele are Māori and we are seeking a Board member to join our Board, who can bring a strong expertise in this area in order for us to serve the needs of our clients better.


A strong understanding of Māori culture and needs and a willingness to contribute, participate and be a reliable member for our Board.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Monday night meeting (every second Monday of the month) about 1.5-2 hours. Possible extra strategic planning sessions throughout the year. Ability to be contacted during the week and work alongside the Manager as required to attend to tasks related to this area as required within the time frames required. A declaration will need to be made in regards to certain requirements on the Charity Register in regards to previous convictions etc.
