There are a growing number of older people who are lonely or socially isolated. In this role volunteers engage and interact with an older person from within their community. This a wonderful opportunity to share life stories, experiences and develop friendships. Our volunteers come from all walks of life but what they have in common is warmth, friendliness and a desire to make a difference in the life of an older person.

Requirements:

Friendly, trustworthy, reliable, excellent spoken English communication skills, enjoy talking to older people, good listening skills.
You must be over 18 to apply for this role. PLEASE NOTE: This role is not suitable for someone seeking work experience, as a reference would not be able to be provided by either the organisation or the older person. Time is a precious gift to give

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

An hour a week on a regular basis suitable to volunteer and client.
