The Treasury is a research centre and archive that collects, preserves and promotes documentary heritage material from the Coromandel/Hauraki regions. The Treasury is operated by The Coromandel Heritage Trust and is based in the former Carnegie Free Library building in Thames, with an adjoining state of the art Archive that was built in 2014.
You will become a valuable member of a friendly, dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about preserving Coromandel/Hauraki heritage and making these resources available to the public. Ideally you will have an interest in local history and be keen to learn more about The Treasury’s collection, which includes oral histories, historical maps, photographs, newspapers, books, cemetery records and family history resources.
The Front of House Assistant position primarily involves greeting researchers and tourists who visit The Treasury, providing tours of the research centre, answering phone calls, processing EFTPOS payments/cash handling and carrying out ad hoc administration tasks.
You will need basic IT, cash handling and customer service skills but full training will be provided
