Our Volunteer Companion program matches the people we support with enthusiastic Hamilton volunteers.
The people most suited to this role are interested in other people, are good listeners, are reliable, and have 1 or 2 hours to commit each week or fortnight.
We have a diverse range of companion roles available at the moment, and the main consideration is that we match people with common interests. Some of the people we support would simply appreciate a regular visitor at home, while others want to get active in their community and would like some company while they go shopping, to cafes, to the pub, to the gym, attend shows etc.
We support people with a wide range of ages, so this role could suit both younger and older people. The timing is really flexible, with daytime, evening and weekend roles available.
If you are interested in finding out more about our Volunteer Companion program apply for this role and we will be in touch. You will get to share your interests with others, meet new people and help our organization enable good lives for the people we support.
You will be calm, patient and reliable and willing to develop an understanding of disability issues.
