Literacy Coach - Home Based

This position is a bit like being a virtual tutor. You are helping the learner with reading and writing. We have found that, without someone to help them, the learners intend to practice - but do not. You will help the learner practice 3-5 spelling words they are learning for the week and work with them on their reading/writing. You will need to conference with your learner to put together an individualized plan for their learning. You work together to develop goals and select materials and activities to help them reach those goals. This role is very important and by doing it you can change an adult learners life - and that of their family.
Helping otherwise isolated learners to better their lives.

Requirements:

Good computer skills. Excellent spoken English, reading and writing skills. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written). Reliable. An analytical mind, friendly personality. We train you and give you all the support you need.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

1-2 hours weekly.
