In this role, you will help secondary school students with their NCEA-related homework and assignments. This is a one-on-one tutoring role which aims to cover as many subjects across the curriculum, with a strong focus on English and Maths. You will be working with students from diverse backgrounds. Currently, we support students from Congo, Somalia, Colombia, Afghanistan, Syria, and Pakistan.
By offering your knowledge, patience, encouragement, and skills, you are giving refugee students the chance to advance their education and become confident in their learning. We also provide references after the candidate has volunteered for 3 months.

Ability to teach academic reading and writing.
NOTE: The applicant must have lived in NZ for more than a year and have an understanding of the NZ high school system and NCEA.

Classes run from 3.15 - 5.30 pm on Mondays and Fridays at Wintec
