This is a fun and interesting role where you will meet lots of people from all around New Zealand who are exploring and discovering our great town. You don't need to know lots about our local heritage as we will help you learn this on the job. Our visitor engagement team do a variety of tasks which include -

  • Opening and closing the museum at prescribed times
  • Welcoming and assisting visitors
  • Practical tasks such as maintaining the daily attendance register, assisting with shop sales and shop merchandise. Helping to keep the Museum clean and tidy and doing some daily checks of our facilities are also part of this role.

Gain some skills in retail sales, tourism experience, front of house customer service, and learn lots about our local history. We always have projects on the go so would welcome your application if you would like to discuss other ways you can be involved.
