Some very talented volunteers!

Showing Waikato has taken the opportunity offered by talented local artists

A few months ago they put the call out for artists when they realised that their regular Volunteer was not available for painting their life size cow for this years Show. Each year, as part of the A&P Show Cow Colouring competition Rosie the cow is redressed with the winning design. However the artists they found had much more to offer and a new project was born.

Based on a series of (terrible!) animal puns Showing Waikato will be issuing limited release Christmas Cards as a fundraiser for the 2020 Show. Three artists submitted ideas and styles and they couldn’t choose so why should the public. They are going to be offering a choice of three series!

Wendy Edwards, Davina Stone and Jane Chu, are all super talented and offer completely different artistic styles – they are acknowledged on the inside of the card alongside a simple message. Card samples have just arrived at the Showing Waikato offices and they are delighted to be offering these to the public very soon. Let Showing Waikato know if you are interested via their website.

The connection of one random idea with three talented people offering their time has already made the rest of the Showing Waikato volunteer team very happy as the art was on display during build lunches. They are already planning next year’s series of puns!
