2021 Volunteer Excellence Awards - and the winners are...

Volunteering Waikato congratulates the nominees and recipients of the 2021 Volunteer Excellence Awards!

The Awards were held at The Atrium on Thursday, June 24, with 200 guests in attendance. With a total of 30 individuals and teams nominated over four categories, the judges had their work cut out in selecting this year's award recipients!

The 2021 award recipients were:

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Kathryn Gillingham - WINNER - nominated by the Order of St John
Dr Paul Wood - RUNNER UP (joint) - nominated by Te Rongopai Community Trust
Pat Reble - RUNNER UP (joint) - nominated by the Department of Corrections - Spring Hill Corrections Facility

LONG SERVICE AWARD

Sandra and Allan RuBay - WINNERS - nominated by the Kaawhia Rowing Regatta Club
Rena Williams - RUNNER UP - nominated by the Hamilton Gardens

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR ~ YOUTH AWARD

Oli Posa - WINNER - nominated by the Waikato District Health Board
Liam Keating - RUNNER UP - nominated by Recreate NZ

TEAM EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Aspire Befriending Team - WINNER - nominated by Aspire - Community Support
English Language Group Volunteers - RUNNER UP - nominated by English Language Partners Waikato
Taupō Riding for the Disabled Volunteers - SPECIAL COMMENDATION - nominated by Taupō Riding for the Disabled
