Hosted by: Margaret McQuillan, Grandview Community Garden
Volunteering Waikato invites you to attend the July Volunteer Co-ordinators’ Network Meeting, a space for those working in the area of volunteer management to share ideas, challenges and questions with staff from other community organisations working in this specialised area.
JULY TOPIC: Migrant Volunteer Involvement
Volunteering is something many migrants get involved in when settling in a new country to meet new people, gain local work experience and learn more about their new home. Having cultural diversity in your volunteer team is beneficial and yet can bring challenges with language, communication style and expectations. We will discuss how involving migrants from diverse backgrounds can widen your pool of volunteers and bring new perspectives to your organisation.
We allow time for networking over refreshments at the beginning and end of the meeting and encourage you to take the opportunity to do so. Volunteering Waikato staff will be available for any specific questions or discussion regarding your volunteers or your organisation before and after the meeting.
Date: WEDNESDAY, July 31st, 2019, 1-2.30pm
Venue: Western Community Centre, 46 Hyde Ave, Nawton, Hamilton
RSVP by Friday, 26th July - we rely on RSVPs for catering, seating and resource purposes.
PLEASE NOTE - this meeting is available to Volunteering Waikato members only!
