Each of us has skills and experience that others will value and appreciate.
Sometimes we get to use those skills and experiences at work, or with our families. But often, we know the world hasn’t seen us at our best.
That’s where we can help.
At Volunteering Waikato it is our passion to match volunteers with the community organisation where they can make the greatest impact.
Why volunteer?
Have fun
Meet a diverse range of people
Make a valuable contribution to your community
Develop existing skills and learn new ones
Use your life experiences to benefit the community
Gain work experience
Network in your community
With over 140 vacancies to fill at any time, we need a wide variety of people to fill roles with community organisations throughout the Waikato. You may have specialist skills like accounting or IT, you may be great at gardening or have a sympathetic ear – it really doesn’t matter what skills you have – we will help you find the organisations that most needs your help. We can even work around your lifestyle to find hours that suit.
“Just a short email to say thank you to yourself and all involved in making last Wednesday night, such a wonderful relaxed evening for all participants and supporters. While I was fortunate to be the winner, I feel all nominees give of their time to make Hamilton a better place for everyone, and to meet other volunteers from different organisations was a bonus for me. Dawn (my wife) and I feel very privileged and know we will enjoy our prizes received in the near future.”
