Order of St John Thames - FEDs
St John currently has a minimum age policy of 18 years for all their volunteers.
The aim of Friends of Emergency Department is to assist with patient care together with supporting nursing staff in the Emergency department.
We provide drinks and food for patients, when permitted, and drinks for visitors. We assist patients with such things as telephone calls and generally help them with their stay in A & E.
Other duties include the cleaning and remaking of beds, restocking of linen items, gloves etc.
This organisation is an approved University of Waikato Employability Plus Programme partner.
